A former NBA player hit LeBron James directly, calling him an “abuse of power.”

Fox Sports reported on the 12th (Korea time) that Stephen Hunter recently claimed that the Lakers’ nomination of Bronny in the rookie draft was an “abuse of power” committed by his father LeBron.

“This is especially true given that Bronny has signed a four-year guarantee deal worth almost $8 million, for those who don’t know … the player who is nominated late in the second round doesn’t get a guarantee deal (especially before the summer league),” Hunter said.

He also said that in general, second-round picks are not included in the four-year guaranteed roster.

“Bronnie doesn’t deserve it. It’s a serious abuse of power by James and his agent Rich Paul,” he said. “It’s a slap in the face to all the players who are trying hard to make it to the league. It makes a lot of people turn a blind eye to James.”

He added, “This is why most people prefer Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant to James. Jordan could have named one of his sons if he wanted to.”

Fox Sports’ Rob Parker also strongly criticized the Lakers’ nomination of Bronny on the 4th.

He accused the Lakers of picking players who didn’t deserve to be picked.

“It stinks of nepotism. It will harm James’ legacy,” he said, implying that LeBron James runs the Lakers instead of the owner.

James re-signed the Lakers for two years less than a day after the Lakers signed his son, Bronny, to a four-year guarantee contract.
