Schnarr is a highly accomplished, performance-focused senior executive with extensive experience in academic, public and private sector consulting settings. She is an adjunct professor and adjunct professor of strategic management at the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a member of the university’s board and Senate as well as a director of the MBA and BBA program. Karin held many senior roles in the Ontario government, including as chief of staff to ministers from various portfolios, during which time she guided public policy, legislative and regulatory development related to key government priorities. Recently, Karin served as chairman of the Ontario government’s women’s and economic task force.
She is an experienced relationship builder within the organization, across government departments and agencies, and with external partners and stakeholders. Schnarr has extensive board and governance experience across various sectors and industries. She was recently chairman of the board of directors of the Ontario Higher Education Quality Commission and vice chairman of the Waterloo Regional Police Services Commission. A strong community sponsor, she also serves on the National Advocacy Board of ALS Canada and was previously a board member of the kids health foundation. Schnarr received his Ph.D. in strategic management and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western Ontario University. She also holds a master’s degree in arts from Queen’s University, a bachelor’s degree in arts and science from Waterloo University.
