Chicago received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy from GRAMMYS. The Lifetime Achievement Award commemorates performers who have made artistically significant contributions to the field of recording, and a special award ceremony and tribute concert were held in 2020.

Chicago was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2016. This was their first nomination. They have been eligible since 1994.

Chicago’s first album, the Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014. Chicago is a perfect fusion of pop, rock, and jazz in this double album.
