Macau Breaks 166,000 Visitors In One Day, Reaches 2019 Levels

Macau welcomed a total of 166,562 tourists on Saturday, according to provisional data released in a press release by the Macau Government’s Tourism Authority (MGTO). The figure marked the highest daily arrival of any summer holiday period that began on July 1.

The tally represents a 7.5% increase compared with the highest daily total during the same period in 2019, the last period of comparison before the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to MGTO, the highest one-day arrival figure during the summer holidays of 2019 was recorded at 154,957 on July 27. 토토사이트 모음

International tourism to Macau is also “rebounding,” the tourism agency said, adding that the number of international visitors during the summer holidays had recovered to 74.9% over the same period in 2019.

The MGTO said 5.9 million tourists visited Macau from July 1 to Aug. 24 this year, averaging 107,313 a day. The tally indicates a recovery to 91.9 percent of the level seen during the same period in 2019. A total of 302,229 international tourists were recorded among these visitors, bringing the daily average to 5,495.
