Kim’s back-to-back games with multiple hits; the team dedicates back-to-back days to closers

After going through an adjustment period at the plate for a while, Kim Ha-seong (27-San Diego Padres) has resumed his run production.

Starting at first base and batting second in the lineup against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB) Baseball’s 2023 World Series at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, Kim went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

He raised his season average from .276 to .278 (123-for-442) and now has 51 RBI and 76 runs scored on the season.

After going hitless in three straight games during a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers from April 26-28, Kim hit in all three games against St. Louis.

It was his second straight multi-hit game (two or more hits in a game), especially after going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and one run scored the day before.

From his first at-bat in the first inning, Kim’s bat came alive.

He lined a fastball to center field off St. Louis starter Miles Mychalus.

He moved to second on Juan Soto’s sacrifice bunt and came home on Manny Machado’s single.

With runners on first and second in the second inning, he timed his first-pitch curveball just right for an RBI single that dropped in front of the left-field fence.

He was stranded in the fifth inning on a fly ball to left field and in the seventh on an infield grounder.

San Diego squandered the lead that Kim’s performance gave them.

After taking a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning, San Diego starter Rich Hill gave up a tying three-run homer to Jordan Walker.

Soto’s RBI single in the seventh made it 4-3, but Tommy Edmon’s two-run homer in the ninth gave the Padres a 5-4 lead.

San Diego, which lost its second straight, remained 7.5 games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks-San Francisco Giants for the third National League wild-card spot with a 62-72 record and a .463 winning percentage.

Edmon, a Korean-American who represented his country in the World Baseball Classic in March, followed up his extra-inning hit the day before with a dramatic come-from-behind arch.

Coming to the plate with two outs, 먹튀검증토토사이트 he drove a high, outside 97.2-mile-per-hour sinker from San Diego closer Josh Hader over the right-field fence.
