Korea’s largest motorsport festival, ‘2023 Jeonnam GT (Grand Touring)’, will be held at te Korea International Circuit (KIC) in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, from 23-24 March.’Jeonnam GT’ is a motorsport festival that utilises Korea International Circuit, the only international Grade 1 venue in Korea.Now in its seventh year, Jeonnam GT will host the Super 6000, the top class of motorsport, as well as the Jeonnam Endurance, Sportbike 400, and Sport Prototype races. The circuit is also held on a full course (5.615 kilometres) instead of a permanent course (3.045 kilometres).The fan-favourite Super 6000 class will hold six rounds.The current driving points leader Lee Chan-jun (XStar Racing – 86 points), second-placed Kim Jae-hyun (Nexen-Volgas Motorsport – 78 points), third-placed Lee Chang-wook (XStar Racing – 70 points) and fourth-placed Jung Chung-cheol (Nexen-Volgas Motorsport – 63 points) are not separated by a wide gap in points, so the result of the sixth round could change the lead.With only three rounds remaining in the Super 6000 class this season, rounds six to eight, the outcome of round six will play a major role in determining the season champion.In addition, the Jeonnam endurance event will be a race where the car that covers the most distance in 120 minutes will win the championship, with mandatory pit stops to refuel, change tyres, and change drivers.The 2023 Jeonnam GT will be free to the public.On the 23rd, the Super 6000, Jeonnam National, Sportbike 400 (over qualifying) and Sport Prototype finals will be held.
