‘El Lloracico win’ manager Yoon Kyung-yeop “Kelly held on in the starting battle…I want to praise the struggling bullpen”

It was LG who emerged victorious in the El Lottery after only one game of the three-game series was played due to rain cancellation.

LG won 3-1 against Lotte at Jamsil Stadium 스포츠토토 on April 24.

LG starter Kelly earned the win, pitching six innings of three-hit ball with one walk and five strikeouts. She earned her eighth win of the season. Kelly tossed a no-hitter for the first time in his 24th start of the season.

Ham Deok-ju gave up a run on two singles, but Yoo Young-chan, who came on with two outs, pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Closer Ko Woo-seok pitched the ninth inning, striking out the side in order to earn his 12th save of the season.

The Tigers scored three runs in their lone opportunity in the third inning. Austin led off the inning with a double to left-center field, and Moon Sung-ju followed with an RBI single to center field.

After the game, head coach Yoon Kyung-yeop said, “I think Kelly’s ability to hold on in the starting battle and do a good enough job in the starting role to set the stage for the win, and Yoo Young-chan’s ability to get out of what could have been a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning was a big part of the win today. I have to give credit to our struggling bullpen.”

“Offensively, Austin and Sung-Joo Moon were able to set the tone for the game with game-winning RBI singles in the top of the fourth inning, and our pitchers did their jobs and played solid baseball in what was a difficult game with no extra-base hits.”

“We had a lot of fans come out and support us today and we were able to get the win. Thank you very much.”
