MLB HOUSTON WINS SECOND STRAIGHT ALCS GAME AFTER LOSING TWO STRAIGHT TO TEXAS

The Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB) have evened the American League Championship Series (ALCS) at four games to seven. The Astros won Game 4 of the ALCS against the Texas Rangers 10-3 on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. After dropping Games 1 and 2 at home, the Astros bounced back by winning Games 3 and 4 on the road. Game 5 will be played at Globe Life Field on Nov. 21, and Games 6 and 7 will be played at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 23 and 24.The Astros broke open a 3-3 tie with a four-run “big inning” in the top of the fourth. The Astros drew back-to-back walks and a hit batter to load the bases with no outs, and one out later, Jordan Alvarez tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

With runners on first and third, Jose Abreu hit a wedge three-run shot over the left-center field fence .Houston added a run in the seventh on a Chas McCormick double to left-center field and an RBI single by Alvarez in the eighth. Both starting pitchers, Jose Urquidi (Houston) and Andrew Heaney (Texas), were charged with three runs in the first two innings .In the ensuing bullpen battle, Texas was unable to capitalize on the Houston mound and was held scoreless .In the National League Championship Series (NLCS), the Arizona Diamondbacks bounced back .Arizona defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 in Game 3 of the NLCS on Sunday at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

With the win, Arizona avoids a third straight NLCS loss and improves to 1-2 in the series. With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth, Arizona chased Phillies closer Craig Kimbrel. Leadoff hitter Gurriel Jr. drew a walk, stole second and Parvin Smith singled to put runners on second and third with no outs .Emmanuel Rivera grounded into a double play, and Gurriel Jr. was thrown out at home to put runners at first and second. Herald Perdomo drew a walk, and with one out, Ketel Marte hit a high fastball to center field .Smith, who was at third base, spread his arms wide and crossed home plate with ease.

The first half of the game was a pitcher’s duel between Brandon Paart (Arizona) and Ranger Suarez (Philadelphia).Parent pitched 5⅔ innings of two-hit, nine-strikeout ball, while Suarez responded with 5⅓ innings of three-hit, seven-strikeout ball. After a scoreless seventh inning, the teams traded runs.Arizona reliever Ryan Thompson threw a wild pitch with runners on second and third to start the inning.
