Tiverton Casino Hotel Prepares For Workers’ Day Weekend Grand Open

In many ways, Tiverton, Rhode Island, is a typical New England town with a history dating back to the late 1600s, sea views, diverse ponds, many wooded areas, and a population of just over 15,000. 온라인경마

Adding a casino to the mix does not suddenly change the dynamic of this sleepy town in three different countries. It is by design.

In fact, if you drive to a 52-acre site about 20 miles southeast of Providence, you never know that the new 85,000-square-foot Tiverton Casino Hotel has slot machines and table games installed inside, unless it’s for modest signs showing off its name and logo. It’s a far cry from MGM Springfield Casino, which opened last week in the high-profile West of Massachusetts.

“No, there’s no flash of light and glamour here. And that’s exactly how we wanted it to be,” Joe Moore, the casino’s vice president and general manager, told Casino City after the ribbon cutting on Thursday morning. “Three years ago, when we originally talked to the people of T-Burton, there were concerns that the casino would have colorful neon signs and big spotlights everywhere. But we told them it wasn’t us. That’s not what we wanted. That’s what we promised them.”

The casino opens to the public on Saturday morning, a month before its original scheduled date, and what is found inside follows a “no frills” sensibility similar to its exterior. The 33,600-square-foot casino floor holds 1,000 slot machines and 32 table games. There is a small racebook with 12 betting terminals in one corner, offering Parisian mutual simultaneous bets on thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound races from most major U.S. tracks as well as Zai Alai. It’s likely to add sports betting as early as November. There are 18 “hybrid” seats set up in the middle of the casino, allowing players to sit at their stations with interactive terminals and try their luck at regular live dealers and table games.

Smoking is allowed throughout the casino, except for the glazed market square area in the rear corner with 48 slot machines and grab-and-go food options such as burger joint muya and Five Pizza.

Speaking of food and beverages, Chef Luciano Canova’s Trattoria Romana is the main sitting restaurant. With its large-walled wine bottles and unique wall art, the design shouts for elegance. However, the space also features Canova’s latest concept, the Tuscany Chophouse, from Thursday to Sunday. An eight-seat bar with three top-end tables will serve the menus of the two restaurants.

According to Moore, the casino’s central bar district (located far behind the back of the arcade) hopes to serve as a popular local attraction with live music over the weekend. It also has Rhode Island’s first self-service iPurit system. With a tap 24 on the wall that rotates various wines and craft beers, depending on the season, customers pay for the drink of their choice in ounces and pour it themselves in. The bar also offers a unique cocktail menu already prepared for the fall season with options such as Good Morning Rhode Island (Apsolut Vanilla, Bailey’s B&B Liqueur, Listreto Espresso Liqueur, Caramel, Milk, and Espresso Dusting), Fall Time Rockers (Jack Daniels Fire, Woodford Reserve, Pumpkin Syrup, Cream, Cinnamon, Nutmeg Dusting), and Giddy Up (Bullet Lie, Pallanum Liqueur, Lemon Juice, Pineapple Juice, Angostura Vitus, Cinnamon, and Mint Sprig).

Finally, the 84-room hotel in Tiverton is connected to the gaming room by a long hallway, and the lobby is just inside the casino main entrance. The hotel also has a conference area.

Thursday’s ceremony took place less than 48 hours after casino owner Twin River Worldwide Holdings closed Newport Grand Casino, just 17 miles away, after 42 years and ceded the gaming license to Tiverton.

The nearby Lincoln-based company includes the Twin River Casino, located 35 miles north of Tiverton, Providence, as well as Arapahoe Park in Colorado and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Biloxi off the Mississippi Bay. Officials quickly pointed out that the majority of Newport Grand’s 160 employees have accepted to work at the Tiverton Casino Hotel, which has more than 500 employees overall.
